Claudio Lazzarini and Carl Pickering founded Lazzarini Pickering Architetti [LPA] in 1982.
Claudio Lazzarini graduated in Architecture in 1981 from “La Sapienza” University in Rome where he studied and graduated with Ludovico Quaroni. He established the practice in 1982. Carl Pickering relocated from Sydney to Italy in 1980, graduating in Architecture at Venice University (IUAV) where he studied with Valle, Scolari and Eisenman. He began collaborating with Claudio Lazzarini in 1982, later founding Lazzarini Pickering Architetti.
Both have been Visiting Professors at various international universities and were Professors of Architecture at the “Ludovico Quaroni” Faculty of Architecture at “La Sapienza” University of Rome. Lazzarini Pickering Architetti have held conferences at important institutions and were present at the 9th International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale in 2004 with two projects: the Bad Dreikirchen Hotel in South Tyrol (Italian Pavilion) and the Villa in Positano (Cities on Water section).
